Our team at Suburban Farm Co-op is made up of dedicated staff who are passionate about providing hyper-local freshness. We work hard every day to ensure that what we produce is fresh & nutrient-dense. We're proud to be a part of the local farming community and we're always happy to share our knowledge, experience, and delicious produce with others.
Our Agricultural Director Mary, is an avid urban farmer, ceramicist, and ultimate frisbee enthusiast. She loves tomatoes so much that she has a tattoo of them on her arm (one of five tattoos currently). She is excited to be a part of the Suburban Farm CoOp team and her favorite thing about the job is tied between being in the flower tent and researching new crop varieties. Mary has her Master’s degree in Horticulture from the University of Minnesota and is a lifelong Minnesotan. Every year Mary likes to grow peppers for the sole purpose of making hot pepper jelly to give away to friends and family.
Our Agricultural Supervisor, Claire, has had her hands in the soil since a very young age. Her fond memories of gardening every year with her grandparents inspired her to study plant science at the University of Minnesota with an emphasis on horticulture. Her favorite things about working at SFC are experimenting with innovative ways of farming and growing unique produce. Outside of work, Claire loves growing and foraging mushrooms (especially oysters and morels), walks/beach days around Cedar Lake with her partner, Jesiah, and doing puzzles!
